AI Engineer

About the Role

As an AI Engineer at Aitium Inc, you'll design, build, and deploy production-grade AI systems that power some of the most innovative enterprise workflows our clients run. From LLM integrations and autonomous agent pipelines to real-time inference services, you'll sit at the intersection of research and production engineering — turning cutting-edge models into reliable, scalable software that clients depend on every day.

You'll work closely with clients to translate complex business requirements into elegant AI architectures and contribute directly to Agentium, our flagship autonomous agent platform.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement end-to-end LLM-powered pipelines using frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, and the OpenAI / Anthropic APIs
• Build and maintain autonomous agent systems capable of multi-step reasoning, tool use, and real-time decision-making
• Architect retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems over large enterprise knowledge bases
• Collaborate with client engineering teams to integrate AI capabilities into existing products and workflows
• Implement MLOps practices — model versioning, monitoring, drift detection, and automated retraining pipelines
• Contribute to Agentium platform development, shipping features used by enterprise clients at scale
• Conduct code reviews, write technical documentation, and mentor junior engineers

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 1 year focused on AI/ML systems
• Strong Python skills and experience building production services (FastAPI, async patterns, containerization)
• Hands-on experience with LLMs — fine-tuning, prompt engineering, tool use, and evaluation
• Familiarity with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant) and embedding models
• Experience with MLOps tooling: MLflow, Weights & Biases, or similar
• Solid understanding of software design patterns, testing, and CI/CD pipelines
• Clear written and verbal communication — you'll be client-facing regularly

Nice to Have

• Experience building multi-agent systems (CrewAI, AutoGen, custom orchestration)
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Prior consulting or client-services experience
• Contributions to open-source AI projects
