Cloud Architect

About the Role

As a Cloud Architect at Aitium Inc, you'll lead the design and implementation of multi-cloud and hybrid cloud architectures for enterprise clients. You'll guide organizations through complex cloud migrations, establish infrastructure-as-code standards, and architect scalable, secure, cost-optimized environments that serve as the backbone for modern workloads.

This is a fully remote role open to US-based candidates. You'll be a trusted technical advisor to clients and a key contributor to our cloud practice's methodologies and tooling.

What You'll Do

• Lead cloud architecture design sessions with enterprise clients, translating business goals into infrastructure strategy
• Architect multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP
• Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and CloudFormation
• Guide clients through lift-and-shift, re-platform, and cloud-native migrations
• Implement FinOps practices — rightsizing, reserved capacity planning, and cost anomaly detection
• Design network architecture, security controls, and IAM policies aligned with compliance requirements
• Mentor junior cloud engineers and contribute to internal architecture standards

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of cloud engineering or architecture experience in production environments
• Deep expertise in at least two major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Strong Terraform skills — modules, state management, remote backends
• Experience with Kubernetes — cluster architecture, networking, security, and scaling
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals — VPCs, peering, transit gateways, VPNs
• Experience with cloud security frameworks and compliance (SOC 2, HIPAA, FedRAMP)
• Relevant certifications preferred (AWS Solutions Architect Pro, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, or equivalent)

Nice to Have

• Experience designing infrastructure for machine learning workloads (GPU clusters, distributed training)
• Familiarity with service mesh (Istio, Linkerd) and advanced Kubernetes operators
• Experience with data platform architecture (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery)
• Prior consulting or professional services background
